Are you thinking about moving to the Atlanta area, but want that “small town feel”? But, you also want to be close to great restaurants, shopping and parks? Well, the city of Duluth, Georgia might be the perfect fit for you! Located just 22 miles northeast of Atlanta, the city of Duluth, Georgia is surrounded by other small cities including Alpharetta, Suwanee and Johns Creek. It is part of Gwinnett County and about 30,000 people call it home. There are so many wonderful aspects about Duluth, but one of my favorite things in this great little town is its growing and thriving downtown area. It is a super quaint and walkable town with restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and a large Town Green in the middle.  The Town Green space is awesome.  It has a really large fountain, loads of green grass for the kiddos, and is the location of many of the community events that the city of Duluth, Georgia provides.

The Town Green space in Duluth, with its large fountain and loads of green grass, hosts many community events.

One of those events, The Duluth Farmers & Artisan Market , features vendors who bring in-season local produce, baked goods and other locally-made items twice a month. If you are an art enthusiast, you can also attend one of Duluth’s art festivals. The Duluth Arts Festival features loads of different artisans with artist demonstrations, live music, a children’s play area, plus all that yummy festival food!

If live music is your thing, visit The Red Clay Theatre where musicians from all around the country come to perform. Get ready American Idol wannabes, they even have an open mic night!

One of my family’s favorite things to do in the summer is attend Flicks on the Bricks for a free movie while eating at one of the many local food trucks. There is so much to do in the city of Duluth, Georgia that you won’t ever have to (or really want) to leave!

So now that you’ve fallen in love with the Town Green like I have, let’s talk about where to live in Duluth. Whether you’ve always dreamed of living in a brand-new farmhouse, a townhome or an older craftsman style home, Duluth has it all. As you head down Main Street you will see the beautiful old historic homes that you expect to see in a town like Duluth. But you might surprised to also see beautiful new farm homes. I love how these homes have kept the look and feel of the history. If an older historic home is not your thing, Duluth also offers brand new town homes. You can live near the action or you can live literally on the Town Green in one of the condominiums built overlooking the fountain. How fun would that be? If you are searching for a quieter type of lifestyle, but still want to be close to downtown, there are also several subdivisions that offer single family homes that are still within walking distance to downtown.

So, there you have it! Cute and quaint downtown Duluth. If you think Duluth is perfect for you, feel free to reach out to us or get even more information on the city of Duluth, Georgia here.
